Frequently Asked Questions

Given these unprecedented times and Uncharted Learning’s commitment to the health and safety of our attendees, speakers, and staff, the National Summit will be a virtual format for a second summer. This time, it's about elevating and iterating your experience! We take pride in our National Summit and look forward to delivering robust programming for all members: teachers, administrators, and community champions. We are excited to reach more members through this virtual format while still providing a rich experience for all.

Below are some questions we anticipate you may have regarding our Virtual Summit.

Registration

I already get emails from Uncharted Email. Do I still need to register separately for the virtual conference?

Yes, you need to register to let us know that you will be attending. If you have not registered, now is the time!

Are there additional fees to register for Summit?

No additional registration fees are required for Summit. Participation is included in your school's membership and promise for professional development training. This training continues throughout the school year through program enhancements (e.g., Distance Learning), virtual
meetups, collaboration in a private online community, and one to one consultations.

Training

Are the dates and times of the National Summit the same?

New members have training sessions the week before the National Summit event with all  members. Training participants are expected to attend from start to finish each day.  Training is July 13, 14, 15, and Summit is July 20, 21, 22.

The National Summit will have a combination of synchronous and asynchronous sessions available. Overall, members can customize their experiences based on their own availability during these days. More details on the schedule will be provided in June.

What should I expect for training?

We have a robust curriculum planned for all involved members: teachers, administrators, and community champions. We are excited to reach more members through this virtual platform while still providing a rich experience for all. Training participants are expected to attend from start to finish each day of their training.

I am a new teacher. I am nervous about virtual training - what can I expect?

In the summer of 2020, we adapted the new teacher training bootcamp to take place online. Many of current teachers felt prepared from the training. Throughout your first year of teaching, there will be optional extended training sessions to help you just in time for teaching content.  You will receive additional information about your training bootcamp and how to prepare through email.

Will I receive Continuing Professional Development Unit (CPDU) credits for attending Summit?

Yes, Uncharted Learning will continue to provide Continuing Professional Development Unit (CPDU) credits for those who have completed the training and have verified attendance.

Speakers

I was asked to present. How do I prepare?

We appreciate your willingness to share with the Uncharted Learning community! We will be in contact directly with each presenter to let you know.

Am I presenting live or recording in advance?

We prefer that you speak to a group of members live during the time communicated to you by the Uncharted Learning team via email. If your session is purely informational, a demo, or upon request we can accommodate pre-recorded sessions. All sessions will be recorded and available for members to watch after the live National Summit.

National Pitch

Will National Pitch also be virtual?

Yes!  Here is all you need to know about submission requirements and the selection process.  Please encourage your students to submit!

What will be the format of the National Pitch Event?

The National Pitch will be held virtually and synchronously so that a live audience can tune in and to see student pitches.

Teacher Recognition

Teacher recognition typically happens during the summit. Will recognition still take place?

Yes! Nothing will stop us from giving you the applause you deserve! Make sure you have submitted your activity HERE
